Join us our weekly tropical dance party with salsa lesson, live band and DJ spinning the hottest dance floor-friendly salsa, bachata, reggaeton and top 40 hits. BEGINNER DANCE LESSON – 9:30 PM
You don’t need a partner to enjoy our beginner salsa lesson! Featuring Toronto’s top instructors, the class will lead beginners  through the salsa basics while more experienced dancers warm up for the best salsa party in town. Our great salsa teacher Vladimir is back.

CAFE CUBANO: 10:30 PM
With their potent blend of dance floor friendly salsa and high-energy showmanship, Cafe Cubano evoke the spirit of the legendary dance clubs of Havana. Drawing on the skills of three of Toronto’s most accomplished frontmen (vocalists Yani Borrell, Alberto Alberto and Angel Luis Marquez) and lead by music director/pianist Jorge Betancourt, the band features some of Toronto’s finest musicians from such famous Cuban groups as Adalberto Alvarez y su Son and Cubanisimo.

Pedro Alderete, late Cuban-born Toronto artist exhibition

There will be an exhibition at Artscape Wychwood Barns for the late Cuban-born, Toronto-based artist Pedro Alderete, who passed away suddenly in 2005 while completing the biggest commission of his career at Downsview Park.  

The exhibition and sale of a selection of works will take place on June 2 and 3.

The exhibition will feature 20 pieces including paintings, portraits and mixed media from the Cuban visual artist’s body of work, several of which will be on display for the first time. Some of the works will be available for purchase. This exhibition is open to the public and admission is free.

SALSA CASINO BEGINNER. If you are a beginner this class will be perfect for you as we go over basic steps, body movement and basic fundamentals for partner dancing.

6:10 PM
CASINO AND CASINO RUEDA INTERMEDIATE LEVEL 1. For this level we are going to go over basic and clean partner dancing elements needed in casino, also review and clean moves at an intermediate level like dames, primas, enchuflas, 70s, 71’s.

7:10 PM
CASINO RUEDA ADVANCE. This is the most advanced rueda in the city!!,

Muhtadi International Drumming Festival presents el ¡Tambor! Includes a Children’ss Play Area, ethnic cuisine, exotic arts and crafts, workshop programs and for the adults in the crowd a strategically placed refreshment area.

In previous years, the festival has taken place outdoors at Queen’s Park North, featuring over 30 drumming groups that display the diverse cultural traditions and drumming styles from various countries. This year the festival moves east to Woodbine Park, right across the street from Ashbridges Bay.
