There’s a nice tribute to Yosvani, who we see with many of the Cuban and Latin bands around town. Yosvani was once a member of popular Cuban band Bamboleo. This is on the occasion of Yosvani’s assistance in a charitable event for Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of Canada. From that site:
Originating from the island of Cuba, Yosvani Castañeda was just 7 years old when he first picked up the Violin. Classically trained at the Amadeo Roldan Conservatory in Havana, Yosvani’s talent as a Violinist has taken him around the world. Yosvani has an affinity for bringing together urban and classical sounds, which speaks to his multifaceted skill as a Musician. In his spare time, Yosvani offers private music lessons to children. “I think that one thing missing from today’s generation is live music, I want to inspire young people to pick up an instrument, and show how it can be incorporated into popular genres.”
And in case you missed it, click here to see the amazing talent in action!
Another song from the new CD Pupy will be performing from… May 19, Phoenix Concert Theatre… details soon.
Here’s Loco con una Moto… watch Havana dancing in the street to this great song.
And on May 19… come and be a “loco sin papeles” with the rest of us
