Since her first appearance at Lula Lounge with Maracatu Baque de Bamba in 2005, Aline Morales has become one of the most recognized musicians in Canada’s world music scene today. Singing with her forró group, accompanying other Brazilian artists such as Luanda Jones, and leading her current maracatu group Baque de Bamba, Aline Morales has become so well known that last year she became the face of Ontario Tourism’s No Place Like This campaign.
The next stage in her remarkable career, her knew CD entitled “Flores Tambores Amores”, is an ambitious showcase for Aline’s versatility and creativity as both singer and composer. Rooted in Brazilian styles of samba, forró, Northeastern folk musicl and tropicalia, “Flores Tambores Amores” is nonetheless an album of musique sans frontieres, reflecting all the influences that Aline has internalized since moving to Toronto. Expertly guided by producer David Arcus, “Flores Tambores Amores” has a kaleidoscopic feel and eccentric attitude, propelled by Aline Morlales soulful voice and melodies that transcend all language barriers.

This collaboration of some of the top Cuban/Latin musicians in Toronto began in 1999 with mutual goal to compose, interpret and perform classic son montuno, the root of contemporary salsa. Their appeal derives from a successful melding of diverse talent, infectious energy, years of combined musical education, knowledge and experience, and the obvious affection for the music they play: a driving and aggressive tumbao which gives the group it’s contemporary urban edge and ˜sabor (flavour). Son Ache maintains the integrity, tradition and passion, while broadening the allure of old cuban son, and engaging a wider audience of dancers and music lovers of all backgrounds… see “www.myspace.com/elsonache”
