For Rueda de Casino lessons with Sarita Leyva… Sunday classes remain on the schedule for intermediate and advanced dancers. The club gets full of dancers for this event.
Sometimes there is a rumba event, for example on Sunday Apr 4 … que vengan los rumberos!
This weekly party has very quickly become the biggest club party for Cuban music and dance in town. The Sunday event is a salsa cubana/timba/reggaeton kind of night. Music for a Cuban audience and for the dancers who prefer casino to salsa…… At 8:30 pm, the Rueda de Casino class here has taken Toronto by storm. Come to Babaluú for the real thing… the authentic Rueda de Casino like they do it in Cuba!!
DJ Billy Bryans spins the tunes. Sarita is back teaching the Sunday Rueda de Casino class. (Special thanks to Trevor Forde for filling in while she was away).

Joseph hosts this, and says:
Do you want actually dance CASINO, and not LA or NY styles, in your ruedas? Me too.
Anyone want to meet regulary to do some casino rueda, Cuban style?
I am not a professional or dance instructor. You teach me what you know and I teach you what I know. The important thing is to keep dancing.
As it turns out, we are meeting every Saturday downtown, 12-3 PM in a central downtown location. And alternate Thursdays, about 8-10 pm, same location. Find out more details by emailing: joseph kim <joekim27@yahoo.com>. There is no FINANCIAL cost… but you WILL be required to sweat… dancing with “vigah”… to 100% Cuban timba music. Join the mailing list via Facebook to be updated on last minute changes.
