She will be accompanied by her husband, trumpeter-composer-producer Larry Cramer, who has shared her three decade long Cuban journey, and Hilario Duran, the Cuban/Latin jazz great, a pianist, composer, arranger, orchestra leader, and educator. Also performing will be The Heavyweights Brass Band, a unique jazz ensemble that puts a fresh and fun spin on classic New Orleans style music. Formed in 2009, the band earned a Galaxie Rising Star Award and a Juno Award.
Internationally acclaimed, multiple Juno Award winner Jane Bunnett, renowned for her 30-year career as a performer who showcases the finest talent from Canada, the USA and Cuba, brings her infectious and thrilling music to Brampton’s Rose Theatre on Wednesday, Nov. 28th.
Bunnett is a Toronto soprano saxophonist/flutist/pianist and bandleader who is known for her
creative integrity, improvisational daring and courageous artistry. She expresses the
universality of music through her explorations of Afro-Cuban melodies. She is a pioneer,
breaking ground with her ability to embrace and showcase the rhythms and culture of Cuba.
