I am assured from several places this pub intends to offer you a CHEAP night out… but the food is very good!
Trying out for a regular Friday spot, are the Clave Kings, well known Cuban musicians about town featuring Yani Borrell, Roberto Linares Brown, Yilian Cardero and Jalidan Ruiz. Yes, some of the best. “Y si tu no bailas, varón… a mi me llevo la banda…”

My Place is trying a few bands during October and I’m hoping on Friday night we can demonstrate how attractive Cuban music and dance can be. This will improve our chances of having the lads play every Friday night. Toronto needs more Cuban venues and this one is ready to participate. The Black Bean Soup has been ordered for the night and I only hope there’s enough left by the time I get there! The menu here is excellent with lost of choices to suit all pockets. I’m confident we will all leave happy Friday night at My Place. slainte, patrick
loved it–went early to eat & they have a great, varied menu (the black bean soup WAS delicious, delicious, delicious). something to suit every wallet, i noticed. and of course the band was great; it wasn’t that busy but by the 2nd set a lot of the people who had just come to play pool and watch sports on the big screens had come over to listen to the band and people started dancing, even the staff! hope we will see clave kings back there soon.
I made it too, and said hi to Patrick… he’s also involved with a safety toe sales firm… and Saturdays will be Celtic night at the pub, starting Oct 31.
